Author Name : Dolas Ashadevi S., Gotmare Sulekha R.

ABSTRACT

Demand for fairness creams have increasingly grown and the consumption has multiplied in certain Asian countries due to the popularity of fair skin. The increased success and demand of synthetic fairness creams has not gone unnoticed by herbal cream manufacturers. They too have introduced brands in the fairness category. Synthetic and herbal creams both contain antioxidants in their skin cream formulation. This study compares, the efficiency of antioxidants in herbal and synthetic fairness creams at various temperatures. HPLC analysis was used to determine the concentration of antioxidants. The present study compares effect of temperature on antioxidant α-tocopherol acetate present in both herbal and synthetic fairness creams at a specific time period by chromatographic techniques. The results were encouraging.
