INTRODUCTION
Piperazine is a saturated heterocyclic compound containing two nitrogens at 1 and 4 position. The polar nitrogen atoms into the piperazine ring confer bioactivityof molecules and enhance favorable interaction with macromolecules.1,2Piperazines and subsitituted piperazines are important pharmacophores that can be found in many marketed drugs. Piperazine derivatives are found in biologically active compounds across a number of different therapeutic areas3such as antifungal antibacterial, antimalarial, antipsychotic, antidepressant and antitumour activity against colon, prostate,HIV protease inhibitor, breast, lung and leukemia tumors4.Piperazine derivatives are being used successfully in clinical therapy like ciprofloxacin, sparfloxacin, ofloxacin, norfloxacin, gatifloxacin, ketoconazole, posaconazole and itraconazole etc. for treatment of various microbial infections. piperazine derivatives are used as antibiotic drugs, e.g., norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, ofloxacin and levofloxacine.5,6In view of the above importance, we have synthesizedthe title compound.
