Synthesis and characterization of homopolymer of 4-fluoro phenyl maleimide

ABSTRACT
4- fluoro phenyl malemide (FPM) were synthesized and homopolymerization were performed in Tetrahydrofuran (THF) using free radical initiator Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN). The free radical polymerized homopolymers showed excellent thermal stability. Addition of meta or para electron-donating substituents on N- phenyl maleimide enhanced its polymerization reactivities. Synthesized polymers were characterized by XRD, FTIR, and TG-DT analysis.
