Synthesis and Structural Ananlysis of Nano-Crystalline Zinc Oxide Thin Films by Sol-Gel Method

ABSTRACT

 ZnO thin films have been synthesized by using sol-gel method, spin coating technique .The starting materials used as solvent and stabilizer were Zinc acetate dihydrate, 2-methoxyethanol and monoethanolamine respectively. The formation of thin film is analysed by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and  employed to characterize the  struc ture. This result of XRD revealed that the heat treatment conditions, the spinning speed, concentration of precursor and solvent used strongly affects the crystalline structure of ZnO films. It also showed that the ZnO films formed only one peak corresponding to the (002) plane at 2θ = 35.27˚.
