Synthesis, Structural, Magnetic and optical properties of Erbium doped Mg Strontium Ferrites
Author Name : A. Thippeswamy
SrMgErxFe12-xO19(x=0, 0.01, 0.05 and 0.09) were synthesized by Self-propagation method using ureaas a fuel. The structure of the synthesised nanoparticles was investigated by Infrared spectroscopy, UV-Visible and TGA, SEM and EDAX measurements confirms substitution of erbium in strontium ferrites lattice. The effect of Er3+ and Mg2+ co-doped strontium hexaferrite nanoparticles on structural, morphological, thermal stability and magnetic properties with high potential applications. PXRD analysis conform M-type hexagonal structure, to JCPDS card No. 24-1207. The slight increases of lattice constant due to Er3+doping metal ions size. The nanoparticles size calculated using Scherrer formula from XRD pattern in range 28-34 nm. Irregularplatelate shape, good agglomeration observed in SEM analysis, the composites elementals studied in EDX analysis. The decrease of Hc and Mr Value with increasing erbium substitution and hard magnetization confirmed by VSM analysis. Shows magnetic behaviour and many applications inmagnetic devices, microwave frequency devices and transformer cores
