Tackling Tuberculosis: Innovations, Challenges, and Collaborative Solutions

ABSTRACT: It is despite of the ongoing efforts that Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine which is the sole vaccine that licensed has variable efficacy and not so effective in adults which pushes researchers to concentrate on a new vaccine candidate. By finding biological processes, pathways, or molecular functions that are enriched in the genes, functional enrichment analysis can provide us with information on the mechanisms underlying the gene set of interest. Using Clue GO, a Cityscapes program that enhances the biological understanding of lengthy gene lists, we carried out functional enrichment analysis. Therefore, the future of the new TB vaccines that are being developed is very encouraging for the TB prevention and control programs.
