The Nexus of Demographic Variables and Leadership Style of Corporate Leaders in Kolkata- An Indian Perspective

ABSTRACT This study examines corporate leaders’ perception of their own leadership styles in different organizations in Kolkata. A random sample of 518 corporate leaders is studied through simple random sampling method. By using Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire all the leaders are classified as Transformational, Transactional and Laissez-faire Corporate Leaders. The result shows that the leaders’ demographic profiles are not different for Transformational corporate leaders where as they are significantly different for Transactional and Laissez- faire corporate leaders in Kolkata.
