ABSTRACT
Aerosols play an important role in the various atmospheric processes and their characterization is critically necessary to understand their impacts on the atmosphere. This study aimed to analyze the spatiotemporal variation of different aerosol optical properties over major polluted cities of India such as (Patna, Delhi, Lucknow, Srinagar) The remote sensed daily data was utilized to predict AOD, AE, AI and SSA values from Moderate Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) and Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) for the long term study period duration of October 2004 to September 2019. Daily, Monthly and annual average mean values are analyzed and give time series prediction over the entire period. In this paper we also tried to identify the aerosol type by correlating the AOD and AE and also classify aerosol based across different seasons such as winter (Dec-Feb), pre monsoon (March-May), monsoon (June-August), post monsoon (Sep-Nov). Aerosol classify into 4 type (Marinetime, Dusty, Urban, Biomass burning). AOD, AE, AI, SSA, monthly mean, and annual variations are shown between 2004-2019.
