Understanding the Pathophysiology and Management of Coronary Artery Disease: A Comprehensive Review

ABSTRACT Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a common cardiovascular condition characterized by the narrowing or blockage of coronary arteries, leading to reduced blood flow to the heart. It can result in symptoms like chest pain, heart attack, and heart failure. Managing CAD involves lifestyle changes, risk factor control, medications, and sometimes surgical interventions. A heart-healthy diet, regular exercise, and quitting smoking are essential preventive measures. Adherence to prescribed medications and close monitoring with healthcare providers can significantly improve outcomes. Early detection and comprehensive management are crucial for better heart health and quality of life.
