Voice Transmission and Reception through Laser

ABSTRACT
Optical communication is gaining popularity because of its high bandwidth, low loss power, high security, low cost, and most importantly no electromagnetic interferences. Although Optical wireless communication is a Line of Sight Communication and can be used only for shorter distances, they have the benefit of eliminating the need for broadcast rights and heavy duty cable connections. This work presents a point to point simplex communication system using LASER beam. In this simple wireless communication system, voice signal intensity modulates the laser beam at the transmitter and at the receiver; laser beam is detected using a photo detector. This system is ideal for setting up a speech channel between two areas, adjacent house or offices on opposite side of street.
